Project: Superior Dairy Canton, Ohio Contractor: Beaver Constructors Project Manager: Ben Pachan Concrete Construction Materials: BASF MasterTop, Euco QWIKjoint 200 Concrete Rental Equipment: Bartell TS78 6' Riding Trowel
In 2016, Beaver Constructors installed new concrete floors at the Superior Dairy facility, in Canton, Ohio. Because Superior Dairy’s Milk Room is a storage and shipping area it needed a more durable floor than standard 4,000 psi concrete. The solution was to add BASF’s MasterTop 210COR, a metallic-aggregate surface hardener that will not rust, even in consistently wet conditions. MasterTop 210COR is ideal for industrial floors that require added abrasion and impact resistance where moisture or humidity may be a factor. The impact resistance of MasterTop 210COR is twice that of concrete to hold up to heavy loading and shipping environments and the abrasion resistance is 3-4 times greater than mineral aggregates to withstand high traffic areas. The joint filler Euco Qwikjoint 200 was used to support and protect joint edges from heavy loads and wheel traffic, which reduces spalling of the joint edges. The joint filler also keeps the floors cleaner by preventing dirt and debris from settling into the joints.
On this same project, Beaver Constructors rented the Bartell TS78 6’ riding trowel to be used to pour concrete on an elevated interior deck. The Bartell TS78 6’ riding trowel was ideal because of the machine’s light weight. The Bartell TS78 weighs only 620 pounds, making it ideal for elevated deck pours.
