Keep Up the Pace This Winter with New Solutions from Sika

In construction, speed is everything, particularly in winter. The problem with cold weather is that you can't always use the same products that you use in warm weather.

Sika is changing this with the release of SikaQuick® Winter Boost.

Winter Boost is a "pre-packaged additive" that lets contractors place SikaQuick® 2500 and SikaQuick® VOH down to 20º F (air temp.).* The product, which is added to the water before the mortar, gives the mortar increased resistance to the cold. Though at the moment Winter Boost is only approved for work with 2500 and VOH, consider this just the beginning. Sika is working to apply the technology to a broader range of their products, making it easier to use several other concrete-repair essentials in winter.**

In addition to Winter Boost, we are proud to introduce other new Sika products to increase both speed and safety on the job site:

SikaQuick EZ Patch: A high performance, fast setting, cement based patch. Use this versatile, single-component product from 1½" down to feather edge for smooth, sturdy repairs. EZ Patch can also function as an overlay system when resurfacing or topping concrete.

SikaQuick® 1000 LD and SikaQuick® VOH LD: The same 1000 and VOH products you know and trust, but with reduced dust! Both of these fast-setting products now produce less dust during mixing, helping you meet OSHA dust regulations.

Finally, your winter arsenal isn't complete without Sikaflex® 2C NS Arctic.

This cold-resistant sealant is perfect for filling joints and cracks in extreme cold. Unlike other sealants that need to be maintained at a higher temperature before using them, NS Arctic is easy to mix, gun, and tool all the way down to 15ºF.

At Phipps we constantly seek out products that make your job easier and more efficient. Call or stop by to get these excellent new products for your winter job!

*As opposed to substrate temp., which must remain above 20º F for Winter Boost to work properly. Always check for frost or standing water, both of which must be removed before applying product.

**Neither Phipps nor Sika advises contractors to use Winter Boost with products other than SikaQuick® 2500 or SikaQuick® VOH. Use Winter Boost with Sika-approved products only.
