Prosoco Chemicals Contractor Training Seminar

An informed worker is more efficient, consistent, and confident. A company made up of informed workers is productive, unified, and profitable.
With this idea in mind, Chas. E. Phipps has been making efforts to connect our vendors and our customers through product and practices training sessions with the goal of not only helping our vendors raise product awareness but also, more importantly, to help the contractors whom we supply tackle projects with confidence.
On February 14th, we hosted a restoration contractor and Matt Stickler from Prosoco to discuss best-practices for chemically cleaning masonry. Splitting time between a classroom-style presentation and hands-on demonstrations in the warehouse, training meant not just getting the theoretical concepts behind a good restoration, but also seeing the chemistry in action. Meeting environmental restrictions, preserving the appearance and integrity of a structure, safety procedures for preparing the surface for abrasive cleaning—they covered a lot of ground in less than four hours.
With stories from previous jobs peppered in between the chemistry terms, application instructions, and just getting messy with real brick and mortar examples, training was personalized, and personal. There would be no use in giving a comprehensive course on building restoration if we did not answer the specific questions the contractors had—and that is what makes training at Phipps valuable.
