QUIKRETE Ice melting products depress the freezing point of ice or snow and turn the mixture into a liquid or semi-liquid slush for easy removal. Because of their great effectiveness, QUIKRETE® Ice melting products can be used sparingly. Spread at the rate of 1/4 lb. (115 g) per square yard (0.8 m2) in an even manner. To minimize the impact on concrete, ice or snow should be removed promptly and any excess deicer brushed away after the concrete has been cleared. Damage to improperly constructed concrete typically occurs due to expansive pressure during repeated freezing and thawing cycles
